The world of hunting is a new one for me. I grew up in a rural part of America where there were plenty of pickup trucks with gun racks but I never did more than shoot at targets. Plenty of people were hunters though and many times I’d see them driving up into the woods while offloading my dirt bike from a truck bed. My friend invited me to go deer hunting with him a few weeks ago. This seemed like a great chance to see what this outdoor sport is all about. I’ve never felt that hunting is an inhumane act as long as the catch is used. My buddy has a butcher who will cure and prepare pretty much any meat delivered. The morning we went on the hunt was hazy. Classic June gloom. With us was a .22 caliber rifle I wielded around for fun and he had a scoped.308. Unlike other outdoor sports, this one is all about stealth.

You wouldn’t expect to find a beach volleyball game quiet just as you would not yell when hunting deer. With rifles strapped on our backs, he grabbed a hiking gear backpack and we set off for the top of a ridge seen out in the distance. Hiking gear transitions perfectly for hunting. Without my hiking gear, especially the shoes, tracking deer would have been much more difficult. We followed a well-traveled trail to a ridgeline where my buddy stopped.

Unzipping his backpack, he pulled out a Bushnell Trophy 20-60 x 65mm Waterproof Spotting Scope and placed it on a flat rock before sprawling into the prone position. This was the first time he had used this scope since buying it at KE Active Lifestyle at http://kayserenterprises.ispeedway.com/. The little drizzle we faced mid-morning was not problem for this scope because it is waterproof.

We sat on this ridge for a solid 30 minutes until my buddy got really excited. He rolled over and told me to look. In the eyepiece, he had spotted three large deer waking thought a clearing at least 500 yards away maybe more. This is when the outdoor sport gets really exciting. As he checked his rifle, I kept an eye on the deer. He tossed me a walkie and told me to spot for him while he moved in closer. As he traversed down the hillside, I kept an eye on the deer movement and reported the location. Like all outdoor sports, this one is best with teamwork. With a crack that sent birds in the air, I witnessed my first hunting kill.

There are so many different and really great outdoor sports that you can choose to enjoy taking part of during your free time. I am sure that some of you who are reading this already have some outdoor sports that probably come right to mind that you greatly enjoy to do, as do have I. For me, I love outdoor sports like skateboarding because it gets me out of the house – where I am always working in my home office most of the time – and allows me to really get a great workout in, while riding my skateboard deck around town, getting some fresh air and burning off some calories in the process. Much like any other outdoor sport, there are some safety precautions that are wise to take when you are involved in an outdoor sport like skateboarding. I have been an avid skater ever since I was in high school, and really well before that, I just did not start to really get into this outdoor sport until my teenage years took over. Ever since those trodden days of my youth, skating has become an outdoor sport pastime for me.

The one thing that we – meaning me and all of my skating buddies – are always very respective of is protecting ourselves while enjoying our favorite outdoor sport. Your head is, perhaps, the most unprotected part of your body when you are skating, and that means, much like outdoor sports like bike riding, that a helmet is always a must-have for me when riding on my deck. I recall when I was back in high school and protective gear for this outdoor sport was all generally the same color, and for the most part it was kind of boring looking, too. However, there have been some true accolades realized with protective skating gear and style and fashion over the years, as my online shopping today has revealed to me.

I needed a new skateboarding helmet because my other one is just getting old and worn out. I was looking around for one and found this online store that had an awesome helmet in my favorite color (blue) on sale, this sweet-looking Protec Ace Wake Helmet Gloss Blue X (which I have added a picture of to the upper left so you can see how cool it is). I found it on sale at this awesome store called KE Active Lifestyle—which is located online at this web URL at: http://kayserenterprises.ispeedway.com.

He went out with a couple of friends to a well-traveled mountainous trail that has a lot of switchbacks. It is a popular trail but physically demanding just because the trail is so steep at parts. It winds back and forth up the mountain so a person can see the further reaches of the trail by looking up the mountainside. There are points when you can run straight up the hill, on an unbeaten path to circumvent the switchbacks. My brother and his friends did this on one part. One of his buddies wasn’t wearing hiking shoes, slipped on a wet log and rolled his ankle.

He couldn’t keep going on account of his ankle so my brother decided they would need to carry him. I’m sure all the hikers coming up past them thought something was seriously wrong. Just a sprained ankle because of a lack of hiking gear. Hiking gear makes all the difference.

Through June, this river is pretty high and the only people who raft or kayak down are those with some skill. I’m just a leisurely kind of guy who likes to float down a river, drink a couple of beers and pull over into the various inlets along the way to explore. So at the moment, I’m anxiously awaiting the lower water levels for this river before heading up there for camping outdoors. The best way to raft this river is by using 2 cars. We park one at a park, way down the river where we get out and then take the other to a start point underneath some railroad tracks, which isn’t very far from our camping gear.

It is easy to spend an entire afternoon floating this river. This is one of many reasons I cannot wait for summer to begin. While it is already heating up, camping outdoors is not yet in the prime time of the year. Soon enough.

This is easy to believe if there were tall mountains around us but there aren’t, at least not in eye shot. He had the pictures to prove it though. Right after seeing the pictures of a vast expanse of trees, a waterfall, river and then later near the top, snow on his phone I wanted to pack up the hiking gear and experience it for myself. This is the perfect month for camping hiking gear because it is warming up but not nearly as hot as it will be in the end of July and August.

The thing about hiking locally here is that there isn’t much in terms of tree cover unless you drive out towards Big Bear mountain. The sun beats down and makes it tougher to make it to a vantage point. At least at the moment, average temperatures are staying in the 80s instead of the 90s. At that temperature, a lot of water comes with traditional hiking gear.

We are planning to go camping outdoors in July and hope that the rivers are full. We have several favorite spots in New Mexico where we love camping outdoors for a week at a time. A trip like that takes quite a lot of preparation and we're up to it, but when the rivers have plenty of water in them, it makes camping outdoors much easier. We don't have to bring all our water for bathing or cleaning dishes, and we can even use water purifiers to drink it should we run out of bottled water.

Not only does a full river make camping outdoors easier, it also provides an incredibly relaxing backdrop. The sound of a river flowing is like nothing else and when we lay in bed at night, there's nothing like listening to it rush by to put us to sleep. Waking up to the sound of the water is such a gentle sound, so we all get up in a good mood when the rivers are running. New Mexico is one of the best places in the southwest to go camping outdoors, especially for people who like running water and beautiful scenery.

Big Fires Attract Big Crowds When Camping Outdoors

One of the most enjoyable aspects of camping outdoors is sitting around a blazing campfire at night and enjoying the conversation of other campers. We spend many weekends in the summer in the mountains camping outdoors at public campgrounds and have found that people are so social after the sun sets and start their campfires. Over the course of a day when we're camping outdoors, we walk around the campground or ride our bikes, so we get to chat with others when we pass by their sites. Sometimes we invite them to wander over to our site in the evening to share our campfire.

We really enjoy building a huge fire when we're camping outdoors. People often come to our site to enjoy our fire and we welcome them. We have met so many good folks when camping outdoors that we continue to contact long after we get home. We exchange emails, an occasional phone call, and sometimes even plan camping trips together so we can see each other again. Camping outdoors is a great way to meet like-minded people, and in our book, the more the merrier.

Perfect Stainless Steel Cups for Camping Outdoors

This summer we plan on going camping outdoors whenever we can, and today when I was looking at camping gear online, I found the perfect cups for drinking hot chocolate and our morning tea. All of us drink two cups of tea in the morning and nothing tastes better than hot tea first thing in the morning. We start the day out when we're camping outdoors by building a campfire to cook our breakfast, but we use our propane stove to get the water boiling to make a big pot of tea. Since tea has so little caffeine in it, we have allowed the kids to drink it for years. They like some of the herbal teas and it's a nice tradition to have, especially when we're camping outdoors and the mornings are chilly.

These cups are insulated so they will keep our tea hot for a longer period of time. Iced tea and hot tea are wonderful beverages, but none of us are crazy about tepid tea, so I thought these Texsport Insulated Stainless Steel Mug would be perfect for camping. They hold 14 ounces and are made from stainless steel. Throughout the year, I've been slowly replacing all our cookware with stainless steel because we like the fact that it doesn't react with food.

These cups are also good looking, something that we care about when we are camping outdoors. We rely on our camping gear so we buy top notch products that won't fail, and most of the time the quality products last a long time. Stainless steel lasts forever. My mom just gave me a stainless steel dutch oven that has been in the family for 60 years and it cooks just great, so I know the kids will be passing these cups for outdoor camping onto their kids long after my husband and I have given out camping outdoors for the rocking chair.

I found the cups at KE Active Lifestyle at http://kayserenterprises.ispeedway.com, a great site for finding unique things for camping outdoors. We buy most of our camping gear online, so when I found these cups, I ordered a set of six. There are just four of us, but I thought that if someone else from the campground wanted to join us around the evening campfire, we'd have plenty of cups to serve the hot chocolate. I have that matching gene big time, and these cups were a great value, good looking, and will last forever.

Hydration Hiking Gear So Important in Arizona

Tomorrow a group of my friends are going on a hike, and I'm going along so today I'm getting my hiking gear in order. It's been a while since I went hiking, so I want to make sure that my hiking gear is in tip top shape. My friends are incredible hikers, and I hope I can keep up with them. It seems as though everyone has something that they are good at when hiking. My friends trot up hills so much faster than I can, although my specialty is going downhill. We hike in the mountains, so it's up and down all day long, and the time I lose going up a slope is easy to make up when I start to go downhill.

The most essential piece of hiking gear that I have is my hydration system. Today I'm going to pour really hot water into it to kill any residual bacteria that may be present since I haven't used it for months. Staying hydrated is the crucial aspect when hiking in Arizona because the humidity is so low. Half the time, we don't even know when we're losing water due to exertion because the air dries so fast, so if I do nothing more today to get ready for tomorrow's long hike, getting my hydration hiking gear all cleaned up is number one on my list.

Life is too short to not take advantage of items that save us time when we go camping. Last summer I got all our camping gear organized, and when I found this floor saver for our tents online today, I decided it was just the thing to make packing up from a trip to the woods much easier. We can put this liner under our tents and not have to worry about dragging the gravel, dirt, leaves, and pine needles home with us. Camping outdoors is something we look forward to doing all summer long, but when we get back to Phoenix, it's really hot and we don't want to spend a lot of time cleaning up the bottom of the tent after spending the weekend in the 70 degree air in the mountains.

Camping outdoors is something that gets us through our long, hot summers, and getting the camping gear into our vehicle and out of it when we come home quickly helps us stay cooler. It'll be really slick to have these Eureka Small Square Floor Savers and we can do all the cleaning up in the cool pine air up north. The kids are old enough to have their own tents, so last summer we bought each of them small tents. They are teenagers and the campgrounds where we go camping outdoors are all secure. They like to hang out in their tents and play their console games so it's nice that they can have their own space now.

I found the floor savers at KE Active Lifestyle at http://kayserenterprises.ispeedway.com/, a site with a lot of products for camping outdoors. I love to shop for our camping gear online because I find things that are hard to find locally. We have a sporting goods store about five miles from our home, but the traffic getting there is heavy and I never know if I'll find something indispensable for camping or not. I'm really excited that I found the floor savers today because it eliminates having to unroll the tents when we get home and let the floors dry out and then roll them back up. These measure 6'8" x 6'8" and the kids' tents are 6' square, so there's plenty of protection for their tent floors.

They will also help the tents last longer, too, and it's nice to know that when it rains while we're camping outdoors, we won't have to worry about soggy floors and wet sleeping bags. We can just hang these floor protection pads from a tree branch and let the dampness evaporate, give them a good shake, fold them up, and we'll be good to go. These are yet another item to make our camping outdoors such a pleasant experience.
